St. Joseph McDonough calls new rector Scott Harding

 

The next Rector of St Joseph’s is Father Scott Harding. He is the Rector of The Church of the Messiah in Glens Falls, NY where he has served since 2004. He has a BS in Chemical Engineering from The University of Pittsburg. He has both a Masters in Divinity and a Doctorate in Ministry. His thesis is posted on his church web site for you to read. Father Scott is 42 years old. He is the single father of 4 children, Jonathon age 25, CC 18, Spencer 15 and Mary Brigid 13. His mother lives in Woodstock, sister in Canton, a brother and Grandmother in Roswell. He is an avid cyclist. After his interview at St. Joseph's on a Thursday, he was picked up at his hotel at 4 a.m. to catch a flight back to NY. He then had a 2 hour car ride to meet a 1 p.m. start time for a 3 day race.

Father Scott is anxious to begin his ministry at St. Joseph's.  His first Sunday worshiping with St. Joseph's will be October 20. The official installation by the Bishop will not come for several months. St. Joseph's is at 1865 Highway 20 East, McDonough 30252.
