    2. Southern Poverty Law Center 

    Georgia state office invites the English Avenue community to community charrettes to promote collaboration and get community feedback as they work to develop a campus that the community can use and that meets its needs. This will be a time to ask questions about the project.     5. Everyone’s invited to Fall Fest at Second-Ponce, 2715 Peachtree Road, Atlanta 30305. Saturday, Oct. 26, 2-4 p.m. with Trunk or Treat. Inflatables, chili cook off, balloon artiest, pumpkin carving, food. There is no charge for this event and all are welcome.
    6. The Rev. Dr. Baron Mullis, pastor of The First Presbyterian Church in Philadelphia, is the preacher Oct. 27, on “Day 1” with host Katie Givens Kime, the nationally broadcast ecumenical radio program also accessible online at Day1.org and by podcast. His sermon “Let Me See Again” is based on the account of Jesus restoring the sight of Bartimaeus. He explores the idea that this miracle story can lead us to understand we have blind spots that keep us from seeing the miracles that are right before our eyes --- love, generosity, forgiveness. “Day 1” has been broadcast every week for 79 years and is currently distributed to radio stations across America and overseas, and the “Day1 Weekly Program” is on all podcast apps.     7. Quaker Voluntary Service is a fellowship program supporting young adults who want to live in community, serve at a local nonprofit, and engage in spiritual growth through a Quaker lens. Similar to Mennonite Voluntary Service or the Jesuit Volunteer Corps, young adults aged 21-30 participate in a 10-month program. Join the E.D. Hilary Burgin, to hear about current joys (including starting a new summer program) and challenges. Snacks will be provided!     8. Organist Dina Foster-Osbourne will perform at the Cathedral of St. Philip Sunday, Oct. 27, at 3:15 p.m. in person and livestreamed on the Cathedral Website. A native of New York, she has performed in many venues in the eastern U.S. and served for 32 years as organist at the historic Abyssinian Baptist Church in New York City.     9. 3rd Annual Hymn Sing, a Collaboration between Ebenezer Baptist Church and St. Luke Episcopal Church, led by Dr. Patrice E.     10. A reminder of the Oct. 27, 4:00 - 6:00 p.m., Ignatius House Jesuit Retreat Center, Art & Faith Interfaith Conversation: Transforming Narratives from Antisemitism to Unity. Brendan Murphy  will share insights from nearly three decades of teaching “History and the Holocaust,” and his role in bringing the sculpture Synagoga and Ecclesia in Our Timeto Marist. Nancy Frampton Rising Artist Concert Series featuring Juan Riveros & Sage Harrison, Saturday, November 2 at 7 p.m. This special concert features two harps played by a new generation of harpists.     17. Candler will host a free public forum reflecting on the U.S. presidential election the day after polls close. “After the Vote: Understanding and Repairing a Divided Nation” is Wednesday, Nov. 6 from 3:00–5:00 p.m. in Room 252 of Candler’s Rita Anne Rollins Building and will feature Emory University faculty members Joseph Crespino and Andra Gillespie and Andrew Young, former mayor of Atlanta and U.S. ambassador to the United Nations.     21. Interfaith Thanksgiving Celebration is Nov. 21 at Temple Kol Emeth, 1415 Old Canton Road, Marietta. Doors open at 6:30 for the 7:00 event. Free registration is required for all in-person attendees. You are encouraged to register HERE for quicker entry to the building. Walk-in registration will be available. Personal belongings must be carried in CLEAR BAGS ONLY. Something as simple as a ZipLoc bag is acceptable and there will be some in the parking lot for those unaware. Don’t miss the 20th anniversary of this celebration featuring diverse faith traditions, inspirational speakers, uplifting music, and an array of deserts representing many cultures.
    22. At Open Hand, people from all walks of life come together to touch the lives of thousands of others who are not as fortunate. Volunteers have a lot of fun, too, working with wonderful food service staff and other volunteers.     24. Interfaith Atlanta Youth (IAY) provides opportunities for interfaith leadership, education, and service to the youth of Atlanta and its surrounding communities. Bi-weekly meetings bring together young people with the support of partner institutions and adult sponsors. IAY events demonstrate how combining humanity’s shared faith traditions and a shared faith in humanity can unlock an amazing potential for growth, mutual aid, and problem-solving to benefit all people.
