The Portmore Chorale from Jamaica will perform at 10:30 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 2, in celebration of Jamaican independence during a worship service at Christ the King Episcopal Church, 4805 Lawrenceville Highway, Lilburn. All worship music will be led by the singers and musicians of the 30-year-old choral group. A luncheon hosted by church members follows. All are welcome and there is no charge for the luncheon. Christ the King Episcopal Church is a multinational congregation and meets in space at Lilburn Marketplace, at the intersection of Indian Trail-Lilburn Road and Lawrenceville Highway. The Rev. John Sewak Ray, a native of Pakistan, is rector.

It may be used for individual reflection, group Bible study, adult education sessions, and congregational daily devotions. This began on June 16 but can be used at any time.
