The African American Lectionary Project is a collaborative project of Hope for Life International and the Kelly Miller Smith Institute of the Divinity School, Vanderbilt University. These lectionary commentaries are specially designed to address the liturgical moments of significance to most African American Christians. They may be read online or printed for review at your leisure. Each reading is intended to be accompanied by corresponding Cultural Resource material and corresponding Worship Resources available on the site. You can sign up on line to receive updates. These lectionary readings embrace the traditional moments of the liturgical seasons and celebrate moments of special import across black traditions.
