Take the Next Step at the 29th annual Hunger Walk/Run! Join thousands in the fight against hunger. The 5k walk/run benefits the Atlanta Community Food Bank and five other local faith-based nonprofits with hunger relief programs including: Episcopal Charities Foundation, The Jewish Federation of Greater Atlanta, Lutheran Services of Georgia, Presbytery of Greater Atlanta and St. Vincent de Paul Society.  The event opens at Noon.  The 5K walk and "fun run" begin at 2 p.m.  Pre-register online as a team or individual at www.HWR2013.org, or at the registration tent the day of the event.  Registration is $25 and includes an official Hunger Walk/Run 2013 event t-shirt. Come enjoy the fun, festival-like atmosphere with activities for the entire family including games, refreshments, live entertainment, and more! Prayer for the people of Beirut

Light of new hope

God of refuge,
hear our prayer
as we hold the people of Beirut
in our hearts at this time.
Fill us with compassion
and move us to reach out in love.

In your mercy,
bring comfort to those who mourn,
healing to those who are injured,
shelter to those who are homeless
sustenance to those who hunger.

Give strength to those who are working
to rebuild shattered lives,
and protect those who are vulnerable
especially in a time of coronavirus.

Lead us in your ways
so that together we may bring
the light of new hope
wherever there is destruction and despair.

We ask this through Christ our Lord, Amen.
