Standing Together is a broad based coalition of agencies, ministries, and congregations of many denominations and faiths, facilitated by the Regional Council of Churches of Atlanta, united to serve the human needs of people displaced by natural disasters and other crises.

Congregational sponsorship is a core element of Standing Together. This is a tried and true method to help people resettle into a new community. This coalition is working with dozens of agencies and ministries experienced in resettlement and case management. We will utilize a multi-pronged strategy to match congregational sponsors with evacuees, create congregational clusters for ongoing support, and to link families to agencies and other resources.

The Regional Council of Churches of Atlanta has commissioned a state of the art system named PeopleForce, which allows all partner agencies and sponsoring groups to find the most up-to-date information and how-to guides on sponsorship, match and track needs of evacuees, and find resources through a mappable matching capability.

The Regional Council of Churches of Atlanta is functioning as a liaison between sponsoring congregations and groups of congregations and resettlement agencies organizing groups and events by geographical proximity. Additionally, we are helping to identify additional resources from congregations including; volunteers to serve as advocates, household goods, job opportunities and financial resources to support the coalition partners.

Whatever your congregation can do- there is a need. Time is critical. We need your help. If your congregation or agency is interested in Standing Together with the broader community of faith with full family sponsorship, prayer support, volunteers or financial contributions, please contact the Regional Council of Churches, by phone at 404-389-0590.If your agency or ministry would like to become a part of the Standing Together Resettlement Coalition call the Regional Council of Churches 404-389-0590.
