Take the Next Step at the 29th annual Hunger Walk/Run! Join thousands in the fight against hunger. The 5k walk/run benefits the Atlanta Community Food Bank and five other local faith-based nonprofits with hunger relief programs including: Episcopal Charities Foundation, The Jewish Federation of Greater Atlanta, Lutheran Services of Georgia, Presbytery of Greater Atlanta and St. Vincent de Paul Society.  The event opens at Noon.  The 5K walk and "fun run" begin at 2 p.m.  Pre-register online as a team or individual at www.HWR2013.org, or at the registration tent the day of the event.  Registration is $25 and includes an official Hunger Walk/Run 2013 event t-shirt. Come enjoy the fun, festival-like atmosphere with activities for the entire family including games, refreshments, live entertainment, and more! Georgia Alliance to Prevent Homelessness announces a Call for Presenters for the 2026 Conference, Community Power in Ending Homelessness: From Systems to Solutions, taking place May 4–6, 2026 at the Marietta Conference Center. This year’s conference will focus on aligning federal and state direction with community-driven innovation, measurable outcomes, and long-term stability. Practitioners, policymakers, researchers, advocates, law enforcement, healthcare partners, and community leaders are invited to submit workshop proposals aligned with the following tracks: 1. Federal & State Policy Shifts, 2. Community-Driven Solutions, 3. Long-Term Self-Sufficiency & Outcomes, 4. Data, Accountability & Measuring Success, 5. Workforce Sustainability,  6. Housing Stability & Supply, 7. Homelessness Reform & System Transformation,  8. Crisis Response, Workplace Safety & Public Safety Partnerships, 9. Addressing Root Causes Before and Alongside Housing.
