Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church is Celebrating 190 Years 1820-2010 Wesley Chapel Methodist Church has served as a place of worship since the nondenominational Second Great Awakening swept through Georgia between 1790 and 1830. The number of Methodists in Georgia doubled to almost 20,000 during those years. Many Georgians converted to the evangelical denominations at outdoor revival services — camp meetings.

In preparation for the Anniversary, Wesley Chapel is sprucing up the neighborhood. Volunteers are needed to help clean the cemetery on the corner of Wesley Chapel Road and Snapfinger Road, 2790 Wesley Chapel Road, Decatur, GA 30034). Then join us on September 5 for Worship and Community Picnic.

Things to bring:

• Wear appropriate clothing, footwear, hat or sun visor and sunscreen
• Work gloves
• Protective Eyewear
• Hand shears, loppers, pruners
• Rakes
• Garden Hoes
• Shovels
• Wheelbarrows
• Lawn Mowers (with gas)
• Gas trimmers (with gas)
• Gas leaf blowers (with gas)
• Motorized tools are to be used only by the owner. You are responsible for keeping track of your gear and using it safely.

What needs to be done:

• Pick-up litter and down branches
• Pull Weeds
• Remove old debris
• Cut, mow grass
• Trim around stones
• Clear pathways
• Beautify the Cemetery and our Community

The church will provide plenty of water and trash bags.
