The GeorgiaCares program at the Atlanta Regional Commission, Area Agency on Aging helps people on Medicare and their caregivers by providing information about health insurance (especially Medicare and Medicaid savings programs), managed care, long-term care insurance, prescription drug coverage and other related areas.

Volunteers are needed to do presentations, participate in community events and/or provide one-on-one counseling regarding the topics mentioned above. The GeorgiaCares program is seeking compassionate individuals who have:

• An interest in helping people with Medicare
• Knowledge or willingness to learn about Medicare, Medicaid, supplemental insurance and prescription assistance programs
• Ability to navigate the internet
• Access to reliable transportation

Comprehensive training is provided. Licensed insurance agents or anyone who sells products or services to seniors are not eligible to volunteer for this program.
