Parent  Conference at the Chancery, Catholic Archdiocese of Atlanta

The Disability Ministry for the Archdiocese of Atlanta welcomes all parents and grandparents of children and adults living with disabilities to join together for faith, family and friendship.

David and Mercedes Rizzo will present Spiritually Able – Our family's Faith Journey. Randy Hain will speak to fathers in a discussion entitled Blessed Children, Special Fathers while Lucy Cusick, Executive Director of FOCUS will speak to moms. Other topics include:

  • The Spiritual & Emotional Ups and Downs of Grand-parenting
  • SMILE - St. Mary's Independent Living Extension/Medicaid Waivers
  • Special Needs Wills and Trusts
  • Transition to Pre-K
  • Sophia Academy - Learning Differences
  • Faith, Families and Formation – Living your Faith in your Parish

A question and answer panel discussion will end the day.

Suicide is a leading cause of death in young people. What is the role of the faith community in ministering to troubled young people? Share Hope is an interfaith social media contest to promote the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline.
