3. Carlos Museum Lunch and Learn with Bigwitch Indian Wisdom Initiative, Wednesday, April 15, 1 – 2:30 p.m., Ackerman Hall. Details. Bring a lunch and join Tyson Sampson (Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians) and members of the Bigwitch Indian Wisdom Initiative for an afternoon of storytelling, craft, and conversation. Drawing on the traditions of the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians, this program explores Indigenous identity, community, and cultural lifeways.
4. Children are invited to stretch, move, and unwind at Kids Yoga on Wednesday, April 15, from 4:15 to 5:00 p.m. at Clarkston Library. Led by a children's yoga expert, this welcoming program offers a fun and supportive space for kids to build confidence, practice mindfulness, and enjoy healthy movement after school. 5. Indigenous Foodways: Foraging through Relationships, Carlos Museum, Wednesday, April 15, 6:30 – 7:45 p.m., Ackerman Hall. Details. Tyson Sampson (Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians) and members of the Bigwitch Indian Wisdom Initiative lead an evening discussion on Indigenous foodways, foraging, and land stewardship. Through Traditional Ecological Knowledge, the program considers the relationships between land, community, and cultural practice.
6. Academy of Preachers Day of Preaching 2026, April 18. Designed for young preachers ages 16 to 28, the event will include keynote speakers, breakout workshops, a panel discussion, and young preachers preaching in small groups listening and encouraging each other. Each small group of preachers will have an experienced preacher listening and encouraging and offering feedback. 11. From the Jung Society: “Alchemy, the Royal Art of the Individuation Process” with Dr. Thom Cavalli, PhD, a ZOOM online lecture on Saturday, April 18, 7:30 - 9:45 p.m. EDT. In this lecture, we will step back into ancient Egypt and, from the perspective of Jung’s work, trace alchemy’s development from a religio-symbolic craft to a psychological model. We will draw on the work of several noted alchemists (Zosimos, Paracelsus, Dorn) as a bridge to a contemporary understanding of the alchemy of individuation. 13. Organist Robert Gallagher will perform at the Cathedral of St. Philip Sunday, April 19, 3:15 p.m., in person and livestreamed on the Cathedral Website. He most recently served as minister of music at River Road Baptist Church in Richmond. He is a graduate of Manhattan and Julliard Schools of music and has concertized to critical acclaim all over the U.S. and Europe.
