2. You are invited to join The Temple for a special fireside chat and dinner on Friday, June 26.  Hosted in partnership with the Democracy Defense Project, a bipartisan coalition of former elected officials and civic leaders working to strengthen public confidence in the transparency, safety, and integrity of our elections, this gathering will bring together respected voices for an evening of thoughtful conversation.  Featured speakers include: Saxby Chambliss, former U.S. Senator (R); Drew Ferguson, former U.S. Congressman (R); Roy Barnes, former Georgia Governor (D); Shirley Franklin– former Atlanta Mayor (D). 3. This summer, eight World Cup matches are coming to Atlanta, and millions of visitors will come with them. House of Cherith is using this moment to equip our community to recognize trafficking, protect the vulnerable, and stand with survivors long after the final whistle. 5. Amen is just the beginning. Planning continues for the 22^nd Annual Interfaith Thanksgiving Celebration, Monday, June 29, 7 p.m., at Temple Kol Emeth, 1415 Old Canton Road, Marietta 30062.
6. Deep WatersFaith and Filmseries continues July 2, 6-9 p.m., with “13^th” a documentary about the 13^th Amendment. After watching the film, the group will explore how the movie’s themes and characters relate to their own spiritual journeys. 7. Love as Action. On July 4, the 250th anniversary of the founding of the U.S., Quakers and people of conscience will take part in a coordinated national day of action. Building on months of Love as Action vigils, AFSC invites you to host an event in your community or join one near you. Participants commit to protect communities, resist authoritarianism, and build a just future for all. Learn more and register to host an event.

The King Center invites you to an energizing Lunch & Learn, Disciplined Disruption: A Nonviolent Response to Injustice, a special FIFA‑week experience designed to deepen your understanding of what courageous, values‑driven leadership looks like in moments of inequity. Guided by Nonviolence365® Senior Trainer Vonnetta L. West and COO of The King Center and trainer Bonita Hampton Smith, this intimate session offers a powerful introduction to Dr. King’s philosophy of disciplined nonviolence, the core principles of NV365®, and practical strategies for responding to injustice with clarity, strategy, and moral courage. 9. Atlantic Institute invites you to the Fountain Forum, an event series dedicated to reflecting on meaningful themes and writings inspired by leading scholars and intellectuals. The Forum Series creates a space where these ideas can be shared, reflected upon, and connected back to our lives — nurturing sincere community bonds and deeper mutual understanding. 10. From Center for Lifelong Learning at Columbia Theological Seminary: Wounded Ministers Retreat Wounded Ministers Retreat for Clergy and Spouses, July 13-16, 2026. This is an experience for healing and wholeness for ministers and spouses who have experienced a forced termination from a ministry context, or, who are in conflict that may lead to one.
11. The 192^nd Camp Meeting at Pine Log is Sunday, July 19 – July 26, 2026, weekday services at 11 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. Pastor Ed Murrey, pastor at Epworth United Methodist Church near Blue Ridge, Tenn. , is preaching for the morning services. Homecoming preacher is the Rev. Zack Townsend, pastor of Pine Log UMC for 8 years. Pastor Jim Elder, a North Georgia minister serving at Graysville UMC, will lead the evening services. A reminder that Bobby Dodd Institute is currently accepting applications for the September 2026 cohort of our Ambassador Program, a virtual self-advocacy and leadership development program for young adults with disabilities ages 14 and older. Applications are welcome from individuals in any U.S. state. Participants learn how to better understand and communicate their strengths, describe their disability and support needs, advocate for themselves in different settings, and develop leadership skills that can support their future goals.
